Imperial State Electric

The new Imperial State Electric, "Honk Machine", will be released on the 21st of August 2015 on Psychout Records/Sound pollution and this is certainly the band's best stuff so far.

That Nicke Andersson is one of Sweden's most talented songwriters and musicians is not a secret but the man manages to still improve his songwriting with every new album and he delivers once more 11 new tracks filled to the rafters with infectious melodies, harmonies and hooks.

The record kicks off with the aptly titled "Let Me Throw My Life Away" and its pounding drums and driving guitars. And you immediately know that you're in for a treat. Other highlights of Honk Machine are the very beatlesque "All Over My Head" and also "Walk On By" with its soulful backing vocals that must have brought back some memories of Nicke's heydays in the SOLUTION with his pal Scott Morgan .

All the record is pure rock'n'roll and the real talent of Imperial State Electric is to play classic rock but at the same time taking it one step further and making it sound fresh and totally modern.

The band (Nicke Andersson: lead vocals, guitars; Tobias Egge: Guitars, vocals: Tomas Eriksson: drums, vocals and Dolf de Borst: bass, vocals) is tighter than ever and displays influences ranging from The Beatles to Blue Oyster Cult (By the way, if you check the cover of the record you will notice not only that Nicke is wearing a BÖC bagde but also that Dolf de Borst looks more and more like "Buck Dharma" hahaha , just kidding)
